Mammoth Lakes
After visiting Mono Lake, I wanted to explore more of the Eastern Sierras. I was recommended checking out Mammoth Lakes by my Mom - she had gone there with my Dad and said it was incredibly beautiful. I trust her word, so I packed up my tiny hatchback and set out to camp for a week with my boyfriend. The timing of getting out of town couldn’t have been better - this was August of 2020, and California was experiencing one of its worst wildfire seasons in history, in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic. We got on the highway, headed over the mountains and away from other people, and found a remote campground in Mammoth Lakes. It was a great opportunity to see one of my bucket list National Monuments - Devil’s Postpile. The Eastern Sierras are truly a unique and beautiful landscape.
